As a die-hard iPhone fan [I have been using it since iPhone 4 days], I was awaiting the release of iPhone 14 Pro Max and was expecting another cool gadget from Apple. Recently I got my iPhone 14 Pro Max and did it meet my expectations as a customer who uses it extensively for work and for content creation? What are my first impressions? Read on to find more.
Beautiful Colors
All the colors that new iPhone 14 Pro Max offers are great – Deep Purple, Silver, Gold and Space Black. I was oscillating between Gold and deep purple and finally got Gold!
When it comes to durability, Apple offers industry-leading durability features with the Ceramic Shield front cover — tougher than any smartphone glass for its iPhone 14 Pro lineup.
Mind-blowing Camera
If at all anyone had some reservations about iPhone’s camera, in my opinion, iPhone 13 Pro series onwards, things started looking drastically better and with the launch of iPhone 14 range of phones, Apple has brought its top Game to the forefront.
I am loving iPhone 14 Pro Max camera!! Whether you are a professional photographer or people who just love to capture little pleasures of life, iPhone 14 Pro Max camera is a delight with the Pro lineup of new 48MP Main camera with a quad-pixel sensor.
It also features a new 12 MP Ultra Wide camera for sharper details and power packed Macro photography capabilities. There are enhancements in telephoto camera as well as cinematic mode.
iPhone 14 Pro series makes optimum use of computational photography benefits like Night mode, Smart HDR 4, Portrait mode with Portrait Lighting, Night mode Portrait photos, Photographic Styles that helps to personalise the look of every photo.
If I keep all the technical jargon aside, simply putting, iPhone Pro lineup cameras adapt to the scenario quickly and offers amazing image stabilisation, sharpness and colors.
Don’t forget to put the new Action mode in action for incredibly smooth-looking video that adjusts to significant shakes, motion, and vibrations – all this while capturing video in the middle of the action.
Display and Always-On display
iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max include a new Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion which features the Always-On display.
Always-on Display is available on iPhone for the first time. Having used it on Apple watch, I am glad to see it on my iPhone now. Always-On display makes the new Lock Screen even more useful, keeping the time, widgets, and Live Activities all available at a glance!
iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max offer the highest outdoor peak brightness in a smartphone: up to 2000 nits, which is twice as bright as iPhone 13 Pro.
Dynamic Island
When I first heard about it, I thought that wow, it’s such a cool term but what it does? Now having used my new iPhone 14 Pro Max for a few days, let me tell you that I have been making use of the dynamic island a lot.
It blends the line between hardware and software and is placed at a such a strategic location on the phone. Did you spot the dynamic island located on the top Center of the phone that is showing my music which I am playing now?
The Dynamic Island maintains an active state of ongoing activities and allows users easier access to controls with a simple tap-and-hold. Ongoing background activities like Maps, Music, or a timer remain visible and interactive.
I have tried third party apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, Spotify, YouTube Music working beautifully well with the dynamic island. They remain active while I work with other apps and are available at a touch of a screen for actions and interactions via the dynamic island.
