Talvar (Guilty) – releasing on 2nd October in SG

I still remember vividly reading the news of “Aarushi Talwar” murder case for the first time in TOI..the case was one of the most shocking I ever find as a parent..One young life was brutally finished..and the needle of suspicion was pointing towards her own parents..Their servant Hemraj was also found murdered on the terrace of their home..

What could be this case? Honor killing due to illicit affair or ex-servants of the Talwars did this? What exactly happened that night…no one really knows…
Highly qualified parents of Aarushi are named as murderers but many of us would not like to believe this..
This was/is one of the most covered, talked-about case of all times in India..and no wonder it found its way on the silver screen as well..
Fortunately, Talvar (The Guilty) is an adaption by people who are known for their creative sensibilities – Vishal Bhardwaj and Meghna Gulzar

The film stars Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Neeraj Kabi and Sohum Shah in leading roles and Tabu in a guest appearance. It would be a treat to watch these versatile actors and their compelling performances.

The film is produced by Junglee Pictures, the films division of The Times of India Group.

Audiences in Singapore have always backed good and content-oriented films whether they are small or big, regional or Bollywood.

Darpan singapore is one of the partners in initiating the screening for the film.
Talvar (Guilty) is releasing on 2nd October in Singapore showing on GV and Jade. Do watch!

P.S. 1 – watched this movie yesterday and it is a must-watch! Here is our review –

Talvar is an extremely well-made movie based on real life incident. What I liked the most was the way things were presented. Under the name of cinematic liberty, Talvar makers didn’t twist the facts. They present the film like a documentary in many parts. Drama is added because it already exists in the actual Aarushi murder case. It is disturbing to see how the investigation, justice got all botched up in this case. How even the basics of investigation were violated at the crime scene and how crucial evidence got lost.
Talking about performances,  do we always have to say that Irrfan Khan is the best in his craft? He doesn’t act anyways. He becomes the character! I also found Soham Shah very very promising. Neeraj Kabi and Konkana are again natural performers. Supporting cast is just perfect too.
Meghna Gulzar has directed the film sensitively with great balance. Would like to see more of her films without too much gap between them.
I truly believe that this movie is an eye-opener and will pave the way for reopening the case and give justice to the girl who lost her life so so early. Over to you, Indian Justice System.
P.S. 2 – Singapore Desi ran a give-away contest where lucky winners got a chance to watch Talvar with their loved ones. Courtesy: Darpan Singapore
