Even in the fast age of digital entertainment, kids always love theatre, drama and interactive play where they can bond with the entire family. Now that school holidays are on, it’s time to seize such opportunities and that’s why we are so looking forward to Ahh Alien! – an interactive family-friendly theatre production to learn about the importance of kindness.
This festive season, Booming Cherries proudly presents Ahh! ALIEN! an interactive, family-friendly production about an alien who struggles with making new friends. The show will run from the 23rd to the 24th of December at the Stamford Arts Centre Blackbox. Showtimes are Friday to Saturday at 10 am and 12:30 pm with an additional matinee on Saturday at 3 pm.
An original performance, Ahh! ALIEN! explores the tale about accepting differences, working together, and the importance of kindness. This performance will be directed by Angela Chua and will be performed by Vishnucharan Naidu, Faith Kwan, and Han En Sha. This performance also features a post-performance workshop where participants will get to make a take-home craft.
Director Says:
“The word alien has always been interesting to me; we always assume it is a fictional being from another world or another planet, but it also meant unfamiliar and disturbing or distasteful, in other words, foreign. Thinking back to when I was younger, people said unintentionally hurtful things like “you have four eyes”, just because I wore glasses. It wasn’t necessarily hurtful but it didn’t feel great. We don’t realise that what we say has a strong impact on those who hear it. I want to take this opportunity to use my voice to say things that bring about a positive impact,” says Angela Chua, director of Ahh! ALIEN!.
“Ahh Alien! is the first of many productions by Booming Cherries and I believe that Ahh! ALIEN! is a perfect way to start this festive season. I am so excited for you to see what we have been doing and to meet our cast! It is going to be out of this world!” says Chua.
Kindness Is The Best Virtue
Children are one-third of our population and all of our future. Ahh Alien! aims to inspire children to become kinder and more empathetic to the people around them. This interactive performance will allow participants to step into someone else’s shoes and see life from their point of view.
For All In The Family
Ahh Alien! is a production that has some takeaway for all in the family and it presents a perfect opportunity for parents to bond with their children while imbibing the value of kindness. Don’t miss!
