The heady combination of Sea, Sand and Sun is simply irresistible for most of us. For my family, somehow we always get attracted to water than anything else and that’s why end up choosing beaches as a vacation destination.

Montigo Resorts is located on the wonderous vast deep blue sea of Nongsa. Nongsa waters are amazing and one can keep looking at this Sea for ever and ever. Clean, Deep and Most importantly not too crowded – You can feel one with the nature here. That Jetty piercing through the Sea is a sight to behold.

Working parents and school-going kids means planning vacations become quite tricky and we can’t really travel too long distance anytime we like. We have to wait for long school holidays and then plan accordingly.

3. Unbeatable Service and Amazing Villas

We were driven to Montigo Resorts by one special car since we were their Priority Customers and yes, they have this well-equipped coach too to carry guests from Nongsa Ferry Terminal to Montigo Resorts.

When we reached, the courteous staff greeted us with hot towels and this refreshing Lemongrass drink. Did you notice that the straws are actually hollow lemongrass stems? How cool is that idea…

That’s the first look of the vast expanse of villas and I couldn’t help but take one quick appreciating photo. Huge area and different types of villas to suit every requirement!

Welcome to our Sea-Front 2 bedroom Deluxe Villa. This was our abode for 2 days.

BIG! Kids started running around all the 3 levels and started making plans already. On the first level, there is this spacious living room, one wash and oh, that INFINITY POOL. My kids and hubby spent hours in this pool. Literally had to drag them out of it.

Cozy cozy Master bedroom and comfortable kids’ bedroom…

Our Sea Front Villa with unobstructed views of South China Sea was a dream to stay in. Well-equipped with small kitchenette, luxurious toiletries and all other amenities that a family needs.

4. Foodie heaven

I have seen that kids get super hungry when they travel. Glad to see a wide variety of food options in Montigo Resorts that will satiate all palettes. I am sure my vegetarian readers will ask how about vegetarian food?! Don’t worry, there’s so much to eat for you too there. The friendly chefs at Montigo Resorts can always customize for you!

From hearty daily breakfasts to sizzling weekend BBQs, there’s never a dull moment – or palate – at Montigo resorts.

TADD’S RESTAURANT

A casual lunch, a relaxing dinner, a snack while the kids play at neighbouring Tilo Kids Club, or a fresh coconut between laps in the main pool, TADD’S is the perfect spot! Serving local, Asian and Western comfort cuisine in a relaxed semi al-fresco poolside setting, the all-day dining café is a delight.

We ate 2-3 times here and loved the food – especially the live stations doling out hot Char Kway Tiao and Roti Jala – straight from the pan to your plate.

Kids loved the pancakes. You must taste the Gula Melaka sauce and coconut cream sauce for pancakes and waffles. It tastes heavenly!

PANTAI RESTAURANT

Pantai is an intimate kelong-style restaurant that is tucked away in a cocoon of natural beauty, a gentle breeze and the soft sway of trees. Pantai, meaning ‘beach’ in Bahasa Indonesia, offers an extensive menu featuring fresh, locally-sourced produce and ingredients, rendering the Pantai experience that is so charming.

We had a 4-course dinner there and seriously it was so filling. Like I said earlier, for our readers who are vegetarian or have other special dietary requirements, Pantai peeps can curate special menus. So when you book your villa, do inquire about it.

TIIGO BEACH CLUB

TIIGO beach club is cool across every detail. Unwind in the comfort of shaded outdoor loungers, at the sand park or on the cabana beds, as you lazily gaze out at the magical Montigo sunset. We just chilled here and kept looking at the Sea over hot pizza and crunchy truffle fries. You must taste mock-tails / cocktails and signature spirits of TIIGO Beach Club. Thumbs up from our side!

At nightfall, the resident DJ takes to the decks, transforming the space into an electric, groovy dance floor.

All in all, your tummy is going to thank you profusely for eating at Montigo Resorts. Fresh, fun and fulfilling food…

5. Pampering and Rejuvenating SPA

Come on, we Singapore people are busy lot. We work hard and literally are bound to the clock. When in Montigo Resorts, don’t forget to have some me-time at the Montigo SPA.

You can restore your body’s balance with centuries old therapies, accentuated by the ambient infusion of soothing fragrances and light. Recharge and be holistically revived at the Montigo Spa.

The Montigo Spa’s timeless Sumatran huts have had their rich authenticity preserved for over a century! Acquired exclusively for the resort, this rustic cluster adjoins its own stretch of beach which is magical. I took an evening stroll after my SPA and it’s unforgettable. There’re also a steam bath and plunge pools.

I tried their signature Indonesian Massage that improves blood circulation. This massage combines acupressure, reflexology and aromatherapy using signature Montigo oil blends. To ensure the natural oils and juices retain their efficacy, ingredients are hand ground minutes before your appointment.

Too bad my hubby couldn’t join because kids didn’t leave him! His loss entirely…Ha ha.

6. Water Sports and other adventures

Sea means Water sports isn’t it? Montigo Resorts Nongsa offers lots of activities that include exhilarating aquatic adventures, exciting land explorations, a host of sporting challenges, and even a treasure trove of surprises for youngsters.

7. Kids activities

Montigo Resorts is an excellent choice for couples, honeymooners and in general adults. (In fact, I would love to go with only my hubby sans kids once). Having said this, let me make it clear that it’s equally big fun for kids too! They love to run around, soak in the sunny breeze of Nongsa seas and dig in great food and ambiance of Montigo Resorts.

In fact, Tilo Kids Club is an icing on the cake! Just take a look at below picture and see how extensive are the activities for kids.

My boy and girl both had such a gala time in the Tilo Kids Club. They ran up and down, played in that enormous ball pit, had fun on slides. Sweaty and Happy kids! Parents can drop off slightly older kids and had a relaxing stroll on the beach in fact.

My girl attended Batik Painting workshop and took back home this beautiful piece of work.

Montigo Resorts also have a playground and multiple playrooms for some quiet reading or a game on the PS3, X-Box or Wii.
