What you look for when you choose a place for facial or massage? Is big name a must or you give more weightage to the effectiveness of the treatment? and how about cost…Is it mandatory that the salon must be located in the city area only? For me, saving of time, cost and at the same time, experienced consultant matters the most. That’s how I found this gem in the neighborhood of Ang Mo Kio called De Den Beauty House. The place is around the area for last 20 years!!!

That day I was in a mood (and had time) to gift myself some pampering and I headed to De Den Beauty House. It’s not too far off from my place and I saved at least 30-45 mins of traveling. De Den Beauty House is a reputed salon and specializes in facial and massage. Affordable cost is another factor where it scores a brownie point.

I was in 2 minds whether to try traditional Chinese massage or Facial. Finally I settled for Facial because face needed some massage too. Lol. I could have got both done but lack of time. Moms you understand right what I mean. Imagine Rolling eyes emoji here.

My consultant was Josephine – owner and founder of De Den Beauty House. Her assistant was busy with other customer so Josephine atteded to me. I liked her instantly – polite, gentle, caring. I wanted to take her pic but she was shy.

Okies, time to begin. She showed me the facial room. She has 2-3 such rooms. Humble but clean and comfortable. Light music on and calm environment – good good.

I changed into that facial-special robe and go!

Step 1: Cleanse – mandatory step to cleanse the skin of any makeup.

Step 2: Scrub – Again, it’s important to scrub the skin to get rid of any impurities, dead cells.

Step 3: Extraction – one of the best I have ever experienced. Minimum pain and maximum result. I found my face quite clean and smooth after the scrub.

Step 4: Facial Massage – How much ever I like to try newest technologies, I am by default a lover of hand massage on face. Josephine did a wonderful job here.

Step 5: Mask – Zzzz time! I simply love this step of facial. The bliss where the mask works on your skin and you take the most beautiful nap. De Den Beauty House’s soothing mask was great for my tired skin.

Step 6: Complimentary Shoulder and Head massage – this was much needed. Icing on the cake I would say. After rejuvenating facial, pampering massage to relax.

Result: Clean and Fresh looking face and Happy Me. See my no-makeup, after-facial-selfie that I took after going home.

I liked De Den Beauty House experience – no frills, no unnecessary stuff added, no hard selling. Homely and loving consultant who is doing such treatments for last 20 years and safe for skin facial for that added glow – my day is made.
