Well, this is a special post for all the Desi population in Singapore – whether you are an Indian or a Pakistani or from any place around that area of the world. Having said that, Fun Aur Funkaar is actually for ALL who love arts, culture, music, fashion and food – irrespective of man-made boundaries of language and religion!
Well, before you read further, a little bit of decoding of the title of this event for our non-Hindi or non-Urdu speaking readers…
Fun aur Funkaar – where Fun is the same meaning as we all know in English or it’s “art” in Urdu.“
Aur” means “and”.
Funkaar is an “artist”. In loose translation, the event name will be “Fun and Art(ist)”.
This extravaganza unveiling Pakistan is coming soon to Singapore to the most amazing venue of Esplanade from 12th-22nd April 2018. Mark your dates, folks.
My first reaction when I had a glance at the schedule of Fun Aur Funkaar was “wow! Such a treat”. There’s so much happening during this event and am sure that there’s something for every one. For People like me who are quite curious to know more about Pakistan, Fun Aur Funkaar is the event which focuses on the rich culture and heritage.
Fashion Show:
Fashion being a very important part of any culture and art shall be a very prominent feature of “Fun Aur Funkaar”. Fashion show is the opening event for Fun Aur Funkaar. Renowned personalities from Singapore and around, corporate heads and esteemed media groups will be gracing the occasion.
The event shall showcase trendy and modern works from international designers of Pakistan like Ali Xeeshan , Rana Noman and jewellery designer Naila Noorani and Taniya Farooq. Click here for: designers of Pakistani suits
Famous Pakistani celebrity Adnan Siddiqui, a mighty heart who has made his appearance in Hollywood and Bollywood movie MOM will be a part of the event too.
The ramp items shall be open for trunk sales for public after the show.

Drama Recital:
“LIKHAY THAY KHAT TUJHAY” is a dramatic recital of original Urdu letters from the great authors and contributors to the Urdu language namely Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Amrita Pritam, Safiya Jan Nisar Akhtar – mother of Jawed Akhter and Josh Maleeh Abadi.
Another highlight of the play is the lead role by the phenomenal actress Sania Saeed of Pakistan television, along side the young theater artist Tajdar Zaidi. The play is directed by Kanwal Khoosat who is the daughter of legendary actor Irfan Khoosat.
The play will connect both the Indian and Pakistani audience by its rich content andand extraordin performance.

Food Festival:
Food is a work of Art too. Agree? Fun Aur Funkaar is a culinary experience for foodies.
Take a delightful journey of Lahore Food Streets. New dish will be introduced every day during the 3 days of the food festival.

Art Exhibition:
Fun Aur Funkaar, as the name suggests, it is all about art and artists. Be ready to get mesmerized by the art pieces of upcoming and renowned n gifted artists. Visit to witness the phenomenal artworks of top painters like Saeed Akhtar, A Q Arif, A S Rind, Abrar Ahmed, Bin Qalandar and many more.
This event is being organised in collaboration with one of the top art galleries – Ejaz Gallery from Lahore.

This is going to be a true show-stopper and an apt ending of Fun Aur Funkaar!!
Shafqat Amanat Ali, a legendary singer who is loved by both India and Pakistan will be performing live at the ESPLANADE THEATER HALL. Yes, the same artist who lent his voice to an unforgettable “Mitwa” from Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. This musical performance will be available to the audience of 1900 pax who love his versitile singing capabilities, from classical to rock, and
from playback to Sufi. ” Alongside Mitwa – Tere Naina , Yeh Hosla , Dil Dara , Khamaj – are some of the numbers of Shafqat Amanat Ali that are loved by people.
He is one of the few artists, who have received the highest award of Pakistan, The President’s Pride of Performance in 2008.
He was awarded the GIFA Best Male Playback Singer Award in 2006 and has been nominated for different awards over the last 10 years. He has judged the famous Singing Competition, “Indian Idol” too.
