{Giveaway} Monster Jam smashes into Singapore on 19th August for the First Time ever

Now this is one event that should be THE THE EVENT to witness! I am a mom of a 5-year old boy who is monster-truck crazy. He likes to collect all sorts of monster trucks, talks to them and loves to play monster truck games. When he plays these monster truck games, we all love to watch the trucks vroom, boom, jump, roll and simply get awestruck by their power. What will be the spectacle if this game comes live in front of our eyes?? Exactly that’s what is going to happen on 19th August 2017 in Singapore National Stadium when MONSTER JAM roars into Singapore – for the very FIRST TIME!!!

RainbowDiaries was honored to have a long chat over a telephone call to Mr. Blake – Regional Marketing Director of Feld Entertainment and he gave us valuable insights about the show. One can only imagine the amount of passion and hard work that goes into making of such a giant event. Respect and kudos.

Read on to discover some interesting facts about Monster Jam and what to expect on 19th August when this show hits National Stadium.

What’s Monster Jam by the way?

Monster Jam®, the most action-packed live event on four wheels where world class drivers compete in front of capacity crowds around the globe. Monster Jam features high octane spontaneous entertainment and intense competition, featuring the most recognizable trucks in the world. This adrenaline rush show is for all in the family!

The team that works tirelessly

Mr. Blake comes from the background of Motor sports and is shouldering this unique responsibility to bring Monster Jam to Singapore and other Asian nations. He has been tirelessly working on the show and took Monster Jam to Sydney first. Last year, it went to the Philippines and Japan. This year in July, Monster Jam will roar in China before smashing into Singapore in August.

Around 80-85 crew members are involved and we should expect 10 trucks and 10 drivers to be a part of Singapore edition of Monster Jam.

399 hours are going to go in building the track and 300 truckloads of dirt will be in the stadium. Whoa! Simply jaw-dropping.

I was very curious to know what keeps Mr. Blake and his team going on and on with so many shows? His answer was: After working hard, when they walk in the stadium and see kids and families applauding, screaming and watching the magic of monster trucks without blinking eyes…that”s the moment they work for. Kids reactions are always very memorable.

Each Monster Truck has its own unique personality

They all are monster trucks but yet so different. Each truck has its unique personality and look. One common thing among them though: Awesomeness.

My kids are looking forward to see many of these trucks up, close and personal – especially Scooby-Doo and Monster Mutt Dalmatian. They look really cute.

Is it only for adventure junkies? Hell no! This event is for the entire family

Most importantly, Monster Jam is a family event. Not just kids but even adults can enjoy equally. There’s so much to experience and Monster Jam provides an excellent opportunity for family bonding. It’s a different level of fun altogether to scream and enjoy this spectacular show as a family.

In my case, my hubby and boy are well-updated with the facts about Monster Jam. On the other hand, daughter and me are newbies to Monster Jam fun. Am sure together when we watch, it’s going to one gigantic funanza. In Blake’s words, Monster Jam in Singapore is going to be one Massive Family Day-out.

The Pit Party, Racing and more

If you think that Monster Jam means only Monster Trucks will showcase their power and that’s it, then think again. Monster Jam has many elements and all are equally amazing. Example:

The Pit Party – Monster Jam events generally start with a pre-show Pit Party, which gives fans the best opportunity to meet the drivers and get autographs or pictures. In Singapore, there will be a Pit Party.

Don’t forget to book a separate admission ticket for Pit Party, along with a ticket for the Monster Jam show.

A few more elements that you should look forward to experience in Monster Jam, Singapore are:

Timed Racing: An obstacle course competition where the fastest to complete the course is the winner. The driver’s ability and the truck’s agility both are tasted.

Head -to-Head Racing: On a green signal, the trucks head along a prescribed course to a finish line with first to legally complete the course advancing in competition. Winners will advance until two trucks remain with the finals determining the racing champion. Interesting, isn’t it?

Freestyle: Competitors perform tricks and stunts throughout the floor area in a designated time. This is a judged competition. A Freestyle in a stadium environment may include additional “bonus time”.

You know, some members of the audience can get to judge the races. I so want to be one of the judges!

Post-Event Autograph Session: Kudos to the drivers who’ll still have energy to meet the fans and sign autographs. This is something that we will love for sure as there’s so much to learn from the drivers – balance, agility and hunger to give the best performance.

Safety First!

As we live in Singapore and of course as a parent, my next question to Mr. Blake was about Safety. He said that safety is the #1 priority for Monster Jam. Trucks, Drivers and Fans are all very well taken care of and all safety precautions are in place.

He mentioned about Remote Ignition Interrupter (RII). A signal can be transmitted to the truck by way of a special radio, which will shut off the engine. Each truck has a secondary on-off switch located at the rear on the frame. Other safety features are designed, built and mandated to keep the truck safe and operational. Drivers are equipped with the fire-resistant driving suits. Also depending on the location, Monster Jam works with the special safety precautions for fans.

Monster Jam celebrates 25th anniversary this year

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Monster Jam is the supreme family experience, thrilling more than 4 million fans annually over the course of 350 performances.
