Usher in a prosperous Lunar New Year with family and friends as Gardens by the Bay celebrates Spring with its first floral display of 2017 – “Dahlia Dreams”!
Be greeted by the auspicious, gilded hues of yellow, orange and red Dahlias (大丽花) and Begonias (秋海棠) as you step into the crisp climate of the Flower Dome. Take in the beautiful sights while strolling through the Chinese garden inspired landscape, complete with a three-tier pagoda, a pavilion, moon gates, and even intricate sculptures of adorable chickens to welcome the Year of the Rooster. Thanks for the suggestions, we just diy our homemade yee sang over the weekend. It was fun and healthier to eat more often at home.
I was so amazed by the golden pineapple cake! So gorgeous! I really really wish I could visit Gardens by The Bay someday :O
Wootz! thanks for the suggestions and ideas. I might try it with my nieces over the weekend.
Chinese New Year is really a colorful celebration and we, Pinoys are starting to love this tradition. Nowadays, CNY is also commemorated here and little by little, we embrace the practices being done during this season.
I know right? There’s like so many things to do especially the food. or we can just visit the family and friend’s houses and collect ang pows 😀
I went back to Malacca for reunion dinner with my relatives during the CNY… It’s surely a makan-makan festive for me 🙂
Happy Chinese New Year! The Chinese community resident here in Madrid also celebrated it in a big way, but not as cool as in your city … The crafts you did with your children are precious <3
Happy Chinese New year !! I hope can eat that pineapple cake ,seems so appetizing. I went to singapore too for my CNY breaks hehe
Happy Chinese New Year! That golden pineapple apple is awesome. They have made it so well with perfection if it was not wouldn’t know it is cake. Love it!
Chinese New Year is a non-working holiday here in our country but basically the celebrations are limited in Chinatowns all over the country. We used to visit my grandparents on this day to have a family reunion and enjoy my grandma’s goodies.
My work doesn’t realky allow me to go on long weekends. But this is a good idea if you are not yet sure how to spend the days.
Oh wow, the shiny pineapple cake definitely caught my attention. I’m pretty overwhelmed by the hype on the chickens… especially by Mediacorp’s embarrassing guji guji dab song-dance~
Food hopping would be a nice practice for Chinese New Year. It would be nice to spend it with family and friends.
Dang that gold pineapple, looks awesome and I bet it taste good too!
I would have loved to go to the flower dome to check out all those dahlias… they look just so glorious
So many places to go and things to do. But I stay far from Johor and Singapore.
The crafting is a brilliant idea, especially when you don’t want to leave the house and still need to entertain your kiddos haha. Hope you’re having a fantastic long holiday!

Hello dear! Did you visited Legoland last weekend? Am excited to pay a visit soon!
There seems to be so many activities going around for CNY and the vibes are just as lovely and festive 🙂 Will certainly check one the ones you mentioned, looks like its going to be a great start for the year 2017!
The last time i went to Gardens, it was a Christmas display. No chance to see the CNY display =(
So many things to occupy our time during CNY break. I am interested in quite a few myself.
I really want to experience Chinese New Year in China or where there is a strong Chinese culture. We do have that celebration here as well, but I guess, it is more festive there in Singapore. Maybe in the next few years I would be able to spend CNY there. 🙂 I still have to visit Gardens by the Bay despite having traveled to Singapore a few times.
