[Media Release] HELLO KITTY ORCHID GARDEN – World’s first 24-hour Hello Kitty themed café opens in Singapore

Hear hear all Hello Kitty Fans…Opening its doors at Changi Airport Terminal 3 on 12 May 2016, Hello Kitty Orchid Garden is not only Singapore’s first themed café starring the iconic feline, but also the world’s first 24-hour Hello Kitty café offering locals and tourists round-the-clock respite with a bevy of delectable food and beverages served in a whimsical floral paradise setting.

“Hello Kitty Orchid Garden retains a degree of Hello Kitty’s girly appeal, but it also conveys a more sophisticated, elegant feel. Besides making the café look outstanding, the quality of our food is of paramount importance as well. Novelty will attract customers the first time round, but a consistent and elevated dining experience is the key to longevity,” says Andrew Khoo, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Business Development & Operations of the Food & Beverage Division at ABR Holdings Ltd.

“We are delighted to welcome our first themed café – Hello Kitty Orchid Garden – to Changi Airport. The airport continues to be a favourite haunt for many locals and we are confident that the unique dining experience and ambience at the café will keep them coming back. For tourists, the café will be another must-visit destination before they depart Singapore”, says James Fong, Assistant Vice President, Landside Concessions, Changi Airport Group.

Hello Kitty Orchid Garden is owned and operated by Europa Specialty Restaurants (S) Pte Ltd, a licensed partner of Sanrio Co., Ltd., and a subsidiary fully owned by ABR Holdings Ltd.

Cozy and Comfortable Ambiance

Resplendent with live flora, Hello Kitty Orchid Garden in Changi Airport is modeled after Singapore’s modern landscape juxtaposed with lush green scenery – it is a relaxing oasis where, no matter the time of day – or night, weary travelers can fuel up and feel rejuvenated. And for foodies, the pretty plates, comfortable ambiance and measured flavors will surely make the trek to the eastern end of the island a rewarding one.

Local and Asian influences are woven into the menu, which features all-day breakfast delights, hearty mains and sharing dishes, and an irresistible array of Kitty-fied desserts; including soft serve, gelato sundaes, pastries and tea cakes. The dishes are served on beautiful wooden boards, ceramic and glass ware – specially selected to complement the garden theme, each customised with the café logo. A limited menu is offered between 12 midnight to 6am daily.

Diners can first get their appetites raring with enticing finger food, such as the Hola Nachos! ($15.90); flaky fried tortilla chips jazzed up with shaved parmesan, jalapenos, olives, onions, tomato salsa, and lashings of a luscious cheddar cheese sauce.

They can then explore the Enchanted Forest ($17.90; not on limited menu), where succulent prawns, avocado, gooey cheddar, caramelised onions and wasabi sesame mayonnaise snuggle between the folds of a toasted tortilla shell, or discover an impeccably baked fillet of salmon encrusted with diced macadamia when Kitty Goes Fishing ($23.90; not on limited menu).

Let’s Do The Salsa ($16.50; not on limited menu) will have customers getting footloose with a hefty stack of shredded chicken, cheese and veggies dressed with zingy taco-flavoured mayonnaise and sandwiched between Kitty-shaped focaccia toast, while a medley of Mesclun leaves, grilled Portobello and pineapple, jackfruit slivers, feta and pine nuts tied together with a tongue-tingling laksa mustard vinaigrette will positively send them Over The Rainbow ($15.90; not on limited menu).

The Cowabunga! Wagyu! ($24) offers diners a more substantial one-dish meal, as Hello Kitty’s own rendition of the Singaporean favourite, beef rendang. Here, generous cuts of wagyu are slow-cooked until fork-tender and imbued with the rich flavour of a special pineapple rempah (Nyonya spice mix), then served alongside pearly Japanese rice packed in the likeness of Hello Kitty, and Mesclun salad drizzled with ponzu sauce.

  1. This made me cry! Cry to visit it soon. Surely this would be an additional a must visit place whenever someone visits Singapore.

  2. Hello Kitty is love! I was not a big fan when I was younger, weird enough as I grow older I start to like it more. HAHAHAHHA

  3. When I first read ’24 hours hello kitty cafe’, I was just wondering whether it even make sense but when I read further…..it was in Changi Airport haha. That is definitely a strategic place to run a business all day long.

  5. The cafe look so interesting and i get to visit the cafe when i go Singapore next month. i want to try the dessert.

  6. I am surprised that not everything is in pink, lol. That’s a first & super good job for the team for not making the cafe pink. I mean, all the Hello Kitty-themed places I’ve been to are always in pink. I’m sure all Hello Kitty lovers will be super excited to dine here.

  7. I have always loved Hello Kitty as a kid and I still love the character now. I am glad that a themed cafe has opened at Changi airport. Should be a good food stop while in the airport. And the food looks really good too.

  8. Cute Kitty decor but as expected the prices are expensive. I guess we could not expect any less since this is a branded place. Just hope the food quality meets the prices.

  9. This is going to be awesome! I love that the decor and even the plating of the food is awesome and adorable. I’m sure this cafe is going to be a huge hit especially with the tourists.
