I love Japan as a country. Am always curious about Its culture and food. Since childhood, in India, we have been hearing about how it rose from the ashes of Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, how the Japanese people bravely face the constant fear of earthquakes and so on. In fact, we witnessed the endurance and determination of the Japanese people when the double whammy of the earthquake and tsunami struck the country.
Also, the Japanese culture is unique whether it is Samurai or Geisha or those beautiful Japanese gardens..simply wow!
The food of such colorful country is ought to be awesome too. Who hasn’t heard about sushi, tempura etc.
Actually, am a vegetarian and hence have not tasted sushi, teriyaki, tempura in its actual form. But I like the ways they combine fried items with raw stuff and veggies. Also, the soups taste totally different than our usual western style soups. Oh yeah, wasabi and pink ginger..so tasty!!
Thankfully, in Singapore, we do get some vegetarian Japanese choices in restaurants. I recommend that you should try Teng Bespoke Japanese Vegetarian Restaurant. It will satisfy your cravings for authentic Japanese food even if you’re vegetarian. It offers wholesome and refreshing range of Japanese food.
We also get some vegetarian or near-vegetarian Japanese choices in restaurants like MOS Burger which is founded in Tokyo and has numerous branches in SG. They offer burger, milkshakes and a few other veg items.
Just yesterday tried Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant’s buffet and there too I met some of the Japanese delicacies.
Cannot wait to visit Japan and get the taste of its unique culture and great food!!
