Madagascar first weaved its magic in 2005 when Dreamworks released this animated film. My kids have loved watching the film umpteen number of times.
What happens when Marty the zebra, Alex the lion, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippopotamus comes live in a theatrical show? The same magic audience get to experience again…
Yes, Madagascar Live! is here right in Singapore for a limited period only till this Sunday 24th April and you sure don’t want to miss this opportunity to “Move it, Move it”. Before you read further, open another tab on your browser and start booking the tickets on Marina Bay Ticketing Website Or SISTIC.
When I got an invite to attend the opening show, it became a Must-Go for me! Unfortunately, elder daughter has exams coming soon so she couldn’t join, son said no because Sis couldn’t go…Hubby dear encouraged me to go and enjoy the show from the child’s perspective!!
So I went, straight after work…to Grand Theatre, MasterCard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands. Bought some munchies and was all set to watch Madagascar Live! My excitement was doubled just by looking at this vibrantly lit curtain…Voila, I was on the 2nd row…so near to the stage!!
The show began exactly on time at 6 PM and the sound, the music, the acting, the visuals captivated audience’s attention right from that moment. Kids and yes, adults were jumping with joy!
Drum rolls…there they arrive on the stage…in the midst of the thunderous applause and happy screams of kids…
Naughty Penguins…
It’s Marty’s 10th birthday and he wants to something different this time. He wants to explore the wild and experience the life away from the pampered life of the zoo! Whether he escapes from the zoo, how Penguins who themselves are on their way out give Marty ideas…What Alex, Melman and Gloria do to for their friend Marty’s birthday wish…How they finally land up in Madagascar…How the friends remain friends against all odds forms the crux of the plot. You might find it familiar but believe me, watching the show on stage LIVE is always a novel experience.
Oh, they are out of the zoo…What happened on the station of NYC?
and they all land up in San Diego?? Nah, it’s Madagascar!!! The real fun begins now…Fossa, Lemurs and the King Julien…
How Alex will satisfy his craving for steaks, will the friendship between Alex and Marty be ruined on Madagascar? How Marty, Alex, Melman and Gloria be together forever again?
I like to move it,move it
She likes to move it,move it
He likes to move it,move it
You like to MOVE IT
What a beautiful show! I liked everything about it – jaw-dropping set and stage-backstage creatives, wonderful actors who mingled with the audience and made all of us a part of the story, music that was foot-tapping. Take a bow Base Entertainment Asia for bringing it to Singapore.
When I got to click photo with the cast, I was almost like a 10-year old…thrilled!
Hurry, hurry, don’t miss…You only have this weekend to catch up Madagascar Live!

Darn! I wish I was there. Madagascar are some of my favourite movies! Thanks for sharing this.
This is a show to look for in April. I wish that I can go with my family also.
We are fortunate to have the opportunity to watch this too! My girl enjoyed singing and dancing to the “Move it, Move it” song. Thanks for sharing 🙂
My kids and I have watch this only in the film, but i am sure that they would enjoy it more to watch in theatre
If I were in Singapore, I will definitely catch the show. I love seeing colorful characters in animal costumes. Last time I enjoyed the Lion King in MBS before. 🙂
The show looks so interesting. I’d love to see more of Madagascar.
Kids will sure love this, especially their classic “move it” song! I didn’t catch the movie, but many of my tutees love the show!
Looks like a lot of fun, but good thing, my kids have all outgrown this type of kiddie entertainment already. If they were younger, I am sure they will badger me to take them there. Haha!
I love the Madagascar movies, especially the penguins! They’re a hilarious bunch, I don’t think there’s a live show like this here in Manila, too bad. I hope we get to watch one someday!
i love the Madagascar movie. It would be too awesome to see them live!
Madagascar is one of my all time favorites! It’s so incredibly funny! 😀
It would be more challenging to hold a live event compared to the animated one. This would really be a great watch especially for kids.
Whhhhy don’t we have something like this where I live?!?! I watch the Madagascar movies all the time. I would love to see this.
looks like a really fun show to watch! but how’s the crowd like? is it’s more young children based? I’ll feel awkward sitting in large crowd of excited young children.
This is awesome. I love the movie, I’m sure this is just as good as that. It’s so nice that you have that where you are. I’m sure it’s a big hit with the kids!
Now this I would love to see. I loved the movie and actually own them all. I also love taking my daughter to see live shows and just know that she would enjoy this.
Hahaha… Madagascar series was my favorite movie series. So cute and adorable they all are…
What a cool show! I love the movie Madagascar and I was really entertained by the characters. It must be great to watch them come to life.
Looks like a fun show to watch specially for the kids. I love Madagscar and though we have watched the movie so many times I can’t seem to tire of it. My favorite character is Alex the lion, the leader of the pack who is witty and smart. Thanks for sharing this.
