Hotel Review: Sofitel Hua Hin – discover Thailand beyond Bangkok

If you’re thinking that Thailand means Bangkok, it’s time to add Hua Hin to your bucket list. Absolutely beautiful place! When traveling with family, I’ve realized that where you stay sets the tone for the entire holiday. For our recent getaway to Hua Hin, we checked into the So Sofitel Hua Hin Family Suite and this made the entire experience full of style, comfort, and family-friendly luxury.

Travel to So Sofitel Hua Hin

We took a flight from Singapore to Bangkok and then spacious vehicle sent by the hotel picked us up from Suvarnabhumi Airport and in around 2.5-3 hours, we reached the hotel.

Glimpses of So Sofitel Hua Hin Family Suite

The first impression? Greenery, Space and warm smiling hospitality of the staff!

After a refreshing shot of roselle and a quick tour of the hotel, time to check the suite. So Sofitel Family Suite is generously sized – a separate kids room which is a special annex with the parents room! Stepping inside felt instantly calming.

The interiors carried Sofitel’s signature SO Artsy theme. Well-stocked mini bar, coffee machine and amenities like rain shower, classic bathtub and other amenities reminded us that this was, after all, a five-star escape.

Special mention of the bathroom – it feels like a SPA with its elegant design and nature elements. Parents, you deserve it!

Warning to parents because the kids will get very excited about their bunk bed nook which is designed like their own little hideaway even tweens and teens will love it.

Thoughtful touches — like playful accents in the decor and kid-friendly amenities — will make kids feel as special as adults.

The Family Suite isn’t located right by the pool, so there’s a short walk involved and honestly we liked it because walking in this resort is a great fun.

What truly elevated the stay was how seamlessly the suite integrated into the resort’s overall experience. After cycling through the landscaped grounds, lounging by the playful pool, or indulging in a long breakfast, returning to the suite felt like retreating into our own private sanctuary.

Dining options at So Sofitel Hua Hin

We really relished the food at the resort. So much so that I created a separate reel for it!

White Oven restaurant – Loved the huge breakfast buffet – lunch and dinner options too! Family-friendly with plenty of choices even for vegetarians like us.

Beach Society – Chic and relaxed by the sea, perfect for sunset cocktails, mocktails and bites. Ocean views make it even more enticing. It’s currently under renovation, but they’ve set up a nice temporary beachfront space.

SO Sundae – our poolside treat spot. Ice creams, milkshakes, and fun snacks—great for cooling off in the afternoon.

Exciting line-up of Activities

There’s so much to do at this resort.

Pools & Water Fun – Loved the giant pool with the inflatable obstacle course.

Mini Golf – The whimsical 18-hole course was a surprise hit.

Sports & Cycling – Tried table tennis, badminton and a breezy ride on the cycling track – multiple times!!

Kids Tent – Crafts, games, and a playground for kids. Younger kids will love it.

Spa & Gym – Perfect balance: workout first, pamper after. Their SPA is a must-visit. Head to my Instagram and watch this reel.

Explorer Trips – Do visit Hua Hin Night Market and other attractions around the area.

All in all, For families who want more than just a hotel room — a space that blends luxury with functionality — the Family Suite at So Sofitel Hua Hin delivers. It’s not the most budget-friendly option, but what you gain in space, design, and thoughtful family touches makes it an indulgence worth considering. For us, it turned a simple beach getaway into a truly memorable family escape.

Do visit and I’m you’ll remember your stay at So Sofitel Hua Hin for a long long time!
