Our 3D2N Trip to Legoland Malaysia for CNY and tips to keep it free, easy and fun

It was a long weekend of Chinese New Year and we got an opportunity to explore Legoland Malaysia during this period. We have been to Legoland before as well but it’s always a pleasure to visit it. Also we were looking forward to celebrate the Year of the Rat with the first ever Lunar New Year show that Legoland was hosting alongside many other exclusive themed activities for the family from 18th January to 9th February 2020.

CNY Special at Legoland Malaysia

CNY Celebration was an exciting affair at Legoland Malaysia with some first time ever Lunar New Year activities like an enigmatic Sze Chuan face-changing (变脸) opera, Chinese folk dancers recitals, highly charged acrobatic lion dance on high pole acts and more. Also Rat Race for families, making your own LEGO® Zodiac Rat and Monkey King Appearance, The Ninjas Debut, Find That Rat! to spot the 10 LEGO® rats that escaped to Miniland – Truly Fun-tastic!

Planning a trip to Legoland Malaysia

Your visit to Legoland Malaysia can be just a day trip [which is not enough considering there is so much to do when in Legoland] OR 2D1N also [that we have done before and works well] but this time we wanted no rush and that’s why chose 3D2N.

Legoland Malaysia is everyone’s favourite and that’s why Legoland Hotel is quite full always. It’s such a thematic and wonderous hotel and I strongly recommend that you must stay there with your kids. The Room Design and overall atmosphere makes you feel like one of those amazing characters of Lego.

Pro Tip
Book Legoland Hotel in advance to avoid disappointment.

Stay at Hotel Ramada Meridin

Unfortunately, this time we couldn’t stay in Legoland Hotel since it was fully booked but fortunately we discovered another cool stay option of Ramada Meridin that’s just a short Grab trip away from Legoland Malaysia and offers multiple suites for families. We chose Premium Suite of 2 bedrooms on the Top Floor and voila, what a view of the Straits and even Singapore from there!

Hotel Ramada Meridin has all the facilities for families like Gym, Swimming Pool, Restaurant, SPA, Kids room, Free WiFi and we stayed quite comfortably for 3D2N in the hotel. It can get a bit pricey especially if you book last minute so I suggest that you should book in advance to get good prices.

Pro Tip
If Legoland Malaysia hotel is fully booked, Hotel Ramada Meridin is cool option too.

Legoland Malaysia Theme Park

Pro Tip
Legoland Malaysia is super big and there are lots of things to do for the whole family. 2D1N / 3D2N trip is surely more relaxing and fun.

We can spend hours here and kids need to be dragged back home. The rides are addictive and be prepared to do them 2-3 times upon kids’ insistence. At Legoland Malaysia Theme Park, every day is a family fun day out with awesome adventures at every corner – Do check out rides like The Beginning, LEGO® TechnicLEGO KingdomsImaginationLand of AdventureLEGO City , MINILAND, and LEGO® NINJAGO® World.

Legoland Water Park

You are in for super duper splash-tacular fun in Legoland Water Park. The rides are simply addictive not only for kids but for adults too.

Click here and straightaway check and decide which rides you want to try first.

Pro Tip
Legoland Water Park will take around 1 full day based on our experience. Carry nice swimming gear, sunscreen and enjoy.

Legoland Malaysia SEA LIFE

This was our first time to visit Legoland Malaysia Sea Life and it doesn’t disappoint. Especially kids will simply love it! SEA LIFE Malaysia aims to engage and inspire kids to learn, love and care for the ocean through compelling storytelling and up-close interactive education journey. You must watch those dazzling jelly fishes and say Hi to Seahorses. There are interactive shows and touch pool as well.

For Foodies

There is never say never for foodies in Legoland Malaysia and around. Be it local delicacies or western food, Pizza or noodles or a long list of desserts, there’s so much to eat and make your tummies happy.

Pro Tip
Take your pick or best is give justice to all of these foodies places – Bricks Family Restaurant, Di Mattoni, Kai’s Sushi Bar and Coffee@Bricks. Vegetarians fret not! Plenty of options are available for you.

  1. I wish I could be there. Unfortunately I never have visited. But this does remind me of the times when my hubby told me about his lego sets and disneyland and trip to universal studios too! All that when he was a Kid, and I keep on telling him that I too am a kid !

  2. I have visited Legoland in Europe previously and I am excited to know about Legoland in an Asian country. Thank you for sharing your itinerary. I will plan to take my son soon.
