    Some Highlights:

Awards Of Excellence and World Gourmet Summit Opening Ceremony 2017

RainbowDiaries was invited to attend the Award ceremony and Opening Reception and it was one mind blowing culinary ride. Managed to see so much talent, so many master chefs under one roof!!! It was such an exciting moment to witness the eminent personality seating right next to you win an excellence award. The trophy looked so cool…

World Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence (AOE) 2017 honoured 39 outstanding professionals and establishments from the F&B and hospitality industries. Widely regarded as one of the most respected accolades in Singapore and around the region, the AOE ceremony was held at One Farrer Hotel & Spa, with Guest of Honour, His Excellency Dmytro Senik, Ambassador of Ukraine, in attendance.

This year’s record number of public nominations is a clear indication of the appreciation for and acknowledgement of the pivotal role that the industry professionals play in the evolution of the F&B and hospitality scene in Asia. The AOE 2017 were presented under five main voting categories: Chef Awards, Establishment and Hospitality Awards, Wine Awards, Industry Awards, Chef’s Choice Awards and Recognition Awards. New awards include Baker of the Year presented by Redman by Phoon Huat, Restaurant of the Year (Regional) presented by Bangkok Ranch Group and Restaurateur of the Year presented by Bangkok Ranch Group.

    WGS signature charity gala dinner

Celebrating the World Gourmet Summit’s (WGS) brilliant 21st year run and the National Kidney Foundation’s (NKF) milestone 48th anniversary, over 460 guests and Guest of Honour Minister for Heath, Mr Gan Kim Yong gathered for WGS signature charity gala dinner at Swissôtel The Stamford on 6 April 2017.

A record of over S$1.1 million was raised to aid NKF’s on-going commitment to providing care for needy kidney patients and raising public awareness of kidney disease prevention. With Singapore having one of the highest kidney failure cases, this support is integral to bringing life and hope to needy patients.

String of other activities like Ukraine Evening ft. “Fleur Cuisine” Masterchef Iurii Kovryzhenko, in conjunction with GlobalChef© Award, United Streets Food of India, Pastry Masterclass & Afternoon Tea ft. *Kiriko Nakamura & Keisuke Matsumoto were conducted throughout the summit period.

We loved attending and giving justice to the sumptuous-most delights that were served during WGS! Looking forward to the next WGS already ♥

    2. This sounds like a truly gastronomic delight! I can only imagine the creativity and deliciousness that went into all the offerings. Where there chefs from other countries around the world or was it strictly from Asia ?

    3. This is every foodie’s dream!!! Looks like a super cool event with some super yummm food! Btw, good to know that quite some money was raised for such a noble cause!

    4. Wow, this is such an awesome event for you get to see and taste a new set of dishes. Your photos are really beautiful as they all rhyme to how you channel your thoughts regarding this event. Thank you so much for sharing this event with us. You have just showed us that Singapore has so much to offer, especially luscious foods.

    5. The good thing about a food awards event is that you are assured that the food will be delicious! I am sure if they are award-winning chefs they will not want to tarnish their good name in an event like this.
