The Gardens by the Bay never fails to amaze me and my family. Right from the first time we visited it when it was recently opened till today, GBTB has showered us with so much of flower love. So when we got an invite to visit the Gardens by the Bay during December school holidays; I’m going to call it as GBTB in this post; we were more than delighted.
We decided to go there during evening. The purpose was to catch its beauty during day and the glamour in the night. I recommend you also to do the same.
Okay, first things first. Christmas beauty of GBTB comes in 2 flavours – Christmas Wonderland around Supertree area and another is Merry Medley in the Flower Dome. Now this is called as “Double” Festive Joy!
Lemme give you some glimpses of both so that you can go and explore them more in detail. Also, expect a lot of photos in this post though pics can give just 20% idea of the actual fun.
Since it is a holiday season, I saw lot of families visiting with elderly folks. Even we had Grandma with us who came from India to visit us. Now grandma has arthritis and cannot walk properly. But she was insisting that she must visit GBTB under any case owing to some fond memories of her last visit of GBTB – paining legs be damned! I am so thankful to the Gardens by the Bay to make wheelchairs available. At just 2 dollars, we rented out a wheelchair and our grandma was able to see all of the Christmas glory of the GBTB. Thanks ??
Beautiful Day at the Gardens by the Bay:
CHRISTMAS WONDERLAND ??
The Supertree shot is a MUST whenever we visit.
Christmas Wonderland is Singapore’s biggest annual yuletide fair and it is on for its third edition. This year’s Christmas extravaganza is set to offer double the fun at the expanded fairground.
Some of the attraction are the Italian luminarie light sculptures, carnival activities, and musical performances. Also, visitors will be treated to a bigger shopping and dining experience. Look out for the local debut of the Hi-5 Funtastic House, play with ‘snow’ for some wintry fun at the Ice Palace and explore the magical forest of Christmas trees for a tropical holiday celebration like no other.

Time to meet some happy flowers along the way. One simply can’t help admiring Mother Nature’s creations and the way GBTB takes care of them.
The huge gate to usher us into the Flowery Christmasy World…It was an evening and the gate had just started to lit up slowly.
MERRY MEDLEY ??
Flower Dome transforms itself into Christmas Cheerleader. Spot Well-loved stalwarts of the season like poinsettias, amaryllis and Christmas roses grace charming yuletide scenes and majestic conifer trees of different kinds fill the air with their woody, evergreen scent.
And…the Highlight of all festivities – This lovely a lovely ballerina welcoming visitors to come forward. She is cocooned in giant glass globes. Simply beautiful! She is accompanied by the band of toy soldiers and an angelic choir.

I found that the ever-chatty and ever-naughty kids were suddenly calmer and behaving very well observing different types of flowers, trees and of course, Ballerina. Flower Effect!
They played later and ate some snacks…Quite a lot activities for kids.
Glory of the Night at the Gardens by the Bay ??
It was already night and the whole place started looking so different…Magic! ??
The changing colors of the Ballerina. She looks enchanting.
and the flowers…equally amazing in the night!
Toy soldiers…
We were mesmerized and never wanting to go back home. It was already pretty late now…On our way back, this is how GBTB looked…
The SuperTree…??

We were there too! And yes, I agree that it was absolutely magical! So surreal sometimes too!
I like the concept of the place. Good thing that it is until 5th and that’s tomorrow! Only if I live near the place, I surely won’t miss this chance.
