Truly a Dream on Seas! Dream Cruises’ Genting Dream debuts in Singapore…

Dream Cruises, the first-ever Asian luxury cruise line, celebrated the arrival of its inaugural ship, GentingDream to the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore (MBCCS) on 4 November 2016, in the presence of more than 900 guests including government dignitaries, business and trade partners and media.

It was truly an event to remember! We got an opportunity to be on board of this beautiful vessel and spent a few awesome hours inside touring and admiring this palace on waters.

This occassion was graced by Notable attendees included Guest of Honour Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry); Mr Lionel Yeo, Chief Executive, Singapore Tourism Board; Captain Charles Alexandar De Souza, Deputy Port Master, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore; and Mr Nam Liang Chia, Domain Commander (SEA), Integrated Checkpoints Command, Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore.

We were all so excited to meet Genting Dream as we entered the MBCCS reception area that day and the excitement got doubled up when we saw veteran actress Zoe Tay and heart throb Elvin Ng – specially engaged by Dream Cruises to help host the event. Zoe looks like a delicate flower and Elvin so handsome!

We boarded Genting Dream and she welcomed us with open arms – truly modern and luxurious she is! Can you imagine an extravagant Zodiac Theatre is 999-seater?!

The launch ceremony started with inspiring speeches by Mr Thatcher Brown, President of Dream Cruises, followed by Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, Chairman and CEO of Genting Hong Kong and Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry).

Mr Thatcher Brown, President of Dream Cruises said: “Being the first-ever Asian luxury cruise line, we have an intimate understanding of the needs of affluent, independently-minded and confident Asian travellers. Dream Cruises caters to multigenerational families with all‑inclusive activities, the finest Asian and international dining and unforgettable entertainment – all delivered with service that is Asian at heart and international in spirit. Genting Dream, our inaugural ship, will take our guests on a transformational journey at sea and redefine the meaning of inspired travel.”

Mr Lionel Yeo, Chief Executive, Singapore Tourism Board said: “We are thrilled to welcome Genting Dream to Singapore, which is poised to be a game changer in Asia’s cruise scene. Genting has been a key partner in shaping Singapore and the Southeast Asian cruising landscape to what it is today, with Star Cruises being the first cruise line to homeport out of Singapore in 1993”

Here comes the most spectacular and exclusive preview of Dream Cruises’ thrilling signature production show inspired by the hull art of Genting Dream, conceived by pop-art artist Jacky Tsai, entitled “Voyage of a Lover’s Dream” – a tale of love, hope and the overcoming of seemingly impossible boundaries between a mermaid and an astronaut. The concept itself is so fascinating. Performances and production value – superlative ♥ Do check my video below to get an idea…

Launch ceremony increased the level of expectations in multitude!!! We could hardly wait for a guided tour to explore the ship’s array of amazing facilities and amenities, including the Balcony Stateroom, Zouk Beach Club, Waterslide Park, Crystal Life Fitness and Spa, ”Bistro” by Mark Best, JOHNNIE WALKER HOUSE and Little Pandas Club. As a mom blogger, I wanted to check how kids will enjoy the stay on Genting Dream in particular.

Oh my my, Genting Dream is so so huge – packed with everything you desire and more…The interiors are simply royale and flawless!

Parents, please note that there is 24-hrs clinic too. As a mom, I find this very reassuring! ♥

Now time to explore the cabins. Though I feel most of the time would go in enjoying and getting amused with the facilities that Genting Dream offers, room is an important place to relax. Rooms didn’t disappoint too! They are clean, neat, bathrooms are well-stocked with quality toiletaries and yes, 70% of the cabins have sea-view. Wow ♥

The Ship tour of Genting Dream was over now and we were feeling hungrryyy!

Time for a sumptuous lunch at Silk Road with a luncheon press conference with a panel of Dream Cruises key executives, including Mr. Thatcher Brown, to answer queries about Genting Dream.

I would exclusively mention and thank the staff here who doled out vegetarian meal for me even when I told them last minute. Delicious, healthy! ♥

Later in the evening, a spectacular light show featuring “I ♥ Singapore” spelled out across the hull of Genting Dream enthralled spectators withbreathtaking visual special effects, as the ship departed from MBCCS. New to the cruise industry, this state‑of‑the‑art LED balcony-lighting system is capable of creating a kaleidoscope of vibrant colour illuminations and effects that will certainly delight and mesmerise guests and onlookers alike. This beauty looks even better in the night.

My Instagram photo summarizes my experience on board of Genting Dream…Looking forward to go on board again. Once is just not enough ♥♥♥

  11. I have never been on a cruise ship before because I am not too comfortable about the idea of being confined in a boat in the open sea with nothing to do. I see here that probably you will never feel like you are on a boat because of the fun activities.
