Singapore Desi is proud to support the First ever Hindi language competition,Hindi Prerna Awards , by HindiFoundation Singapore based on the
Theme – “Singapore my home, land of pursuits and dream”
Hindi Prerna Award is a dream project of Mamta Mandal – a business consultant by profession, who runs her own consulting firm – Cherishma Consulting here in Singapore. But when it comes to heart – she is much more a delight – a friend, a keeper! If you meet her, you will know she always has her next place to go set up – juggling between her home, daughter, her consulting career and her passion project – but not messing up any one of that. She talks sense, perfect sense when it comes to business. Her business associates will vouch for that and so will her friends for her honest open laugh, which comes from the heart.
She has been in Singapore for 16 years – which she has devoted in calling Singapore home, like most of us. She did succeed in it by building a career that helps her balance home and her own friends – who are like family!
In all this she missed one thing and struggled to stay connected to it – language – Hindi.
Generally we miss the use of Hindi in our daily life and how we end up talking to our Indian friends here too in English. We are forgetting the connect and the need to stay in touch with our roots.
That is when, Mamta decided to work on bringing “Hindi” to limelight – which is her latest passion project – HINDI PRERNA AWARD – a national level hindi competition in Singapore! The first of its kind, for both kids and adults, a platform to hone and showcase your Hindi capabilities. She set up Singapore Language Organisation is organising the first Hindi Prerna Award
This is to create a positive engagement with the community and create bonding with the language beyond the books. She says she wants to nurture the passion and build confidence while creating future literary talents via this competition. A strong believer of Mahatma Gandhi’s quote “be the change we want to see in the world” she took this opportunity to create a HEP world (Hindi Enriched Personality). She wants to change the way Hindi is perceived, and invites you and your kids to participate in a nationwide Hindi competition for kids and adults – HINDI PRERNA AWARD.

कुछ लोग सिर्फ सोचते है , और कुछ लोग कर दिखाते है की देश प्रेम का जस्बा सिर्फ देश में रहकर ही नहीं दिखाया जा सकता है। आज जब भारत में हिंदी अपना सम्मान मुश्किल से बचा पा रही है तब एक प्रवासी स्री ने अपनी भाषा को विश्व स्तर पर सम्मान दिलाने की ठान रखी है।
शादी के बाद न सिर्फ अपना घर बल्कि अपनी पृष्टभूमि भी छोड़ सिंगापूर में अपना घर बसाये हुए ममता सिंह को १६ साल हो गए है। विज्ञानं में स्नातक और मार्केटिंग में M.B.A के बाद ,वह अपने परिवार के साथ यहीं रह रही है, मगर भारत का कण कण आज भी उनमे उतना ही उजागर है जितना की किसी भी भारत में बसे भारतीय में। सीधे सादे वेश भूषा के साथ जीने वाली इस साधारण स्री में एक असाधारण सा जूनून है अपनी मातृभाषा के लिए। अपनी मिट्टी से दूर रहते हुए भी न सिर्फ इन्होंने अपने संस्कारों को संभाला हुआ है बल्कि देश के सम्मान हेतु वो हमेशा अपना योगदान देने के लिए तत्पर रहती है। इसी का उदहारण है उनके द्वारा स्थापित “हिंदी फाउंडेशन ,सिंगापूर”। यह हमेशा नए– नए तरीके ढूढ़ती रहती है उन प्रवासीओ के लिए जो देश और अपनी भाषा से दूर होते चले जा रहे हैं। सिंगापुर में बसे भारतीय बच्चो के हिंदी का ज्ञान हमेशा बढ़ते रहे इसके लिए इस संस्था ने कई कदम उठाये है ,जिसमे से हिंदी प्रेरणा अवार्ड्स एक है। सिंगापुर में होने वाली यह पहली हिंदी प्रतियोगिता है।
ममता सिंह का यह प्रयास इस बात की पुष्टि करता है की अगर अपने देश के लिए कुछ करने का जस्बा है तो उसे हम कही भी, किसी भी हालात में रहकर पूरा कर सकते है।
